Lot Description

Strong, A.B. AMERICAN FLORA: or History of plants and wild flowers; containing a systematic and general description, natural history, chemical and medical properties of over six thousand plants, accompanied with a circumstantial detail of the medicinal effects and of the diseases in which they have been most successfully employed. New York: Green and Spencer, 1850. Volume IV complete with 52 hand colored inserted lithograph plates. 10 by 7 1/2 inches with a modern gilt stamped leather rebacking retaining the original elaborately gilt tooled and decorated black morocco binding.

Condition

Fading library stamp to title page; no other library indicia. Hand-colored lithograph plates clean and vibrant. Binding shows edgewear and rubbing but is still quite attractive -- contents Very Good and fresh.
