Ida Carmichael was born in Ontario, Canada, but spent her life in Cincinnati as an artist and art educator. Though her primary concern as an art educator was to highlight the inseparability of art and life, which explains her strong interest in craft, especially pottery, she is also mostly known for her abstract compositions, as exemplified in these sketches, as well as Ohio / Cincinnati landscapes, as exemplified here.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received. Shipment is generally made via UPS Ground service. Unless buyer gives special instructions, the shipping method shall be at the sole discretion of Cowan's Auctions, Inc..
