Hepplewhite Four-Drawer Chest in Walnut
American, 19th century. A Hepplewhite chest of drawers in walnut with poplar secondary, having a rectangular top above four graduated and dovetailed drawers, the fronts thumbmolded and fitted with brass floral pulls and escutcheons, over a strip of beading and a shaped skirt, all rising on French feet, signed in chalk Davis Bets(?) on back of case and on back of top drawer; ht. 45.5, wd. 38, dp. 19.5 in.Condition
Some minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use, including some light stains to top and a few small nicks. A couple of minor age splits, one near right edge of top and one to lower left side panel. A few tiny chips to corners of drawer lips with a couple of small patches. Drawer divider rail with a small loss below lower right corner of top drawer.
