- Lot Description
.36 caliber, 34" octagonal barrel, turned for bullet starter, nsn. Barrel marked: F EGE DETROIT. Front action percussion lock marked Henry Parker / Warranted. Walnut half stock with raised cheek piece and brass furniture, with round patchbox. Pewter forend cap, two thimbles and one entry pipe, wooden ramrod with brass tip. Elevation adjustable rear sight, dovetailed front sight blade.
Frederick Ege worked in Detroit ca 1860 until his death ca 1895. Henry Parker worked in Trenton, NJ. ca 1860 making half-stock rifles and locks.
Good to very good. Retains no finish with a dull gray patina and some old dried oil giving the gun a brownish appearance. Mechanically functional, good bore that needs to be cleaned. Stock with numerous bumps, dings and mars. Triggerguard fit is poor and may be a replacement. A brass plate (approximately 1" wide and 5.25" long) is set into the bottom of the forend.Condition
