4-bore for 26.5mm flare, 6.5" barrels, S/N 24493. Marked with the maker code gpt / 1943, the mark of Gustav Bittner of Weipert, Sudetengau. The Luftwaffe Flieger-Leuchtpistole L or Aviators Flare Gun L, was issued to Luftwaffe aircrews in order to give them a method of communication that did not rely on their radio transmitters.
