- Lot Description
.58 caliber, 34" swamped octagonal barrel, browned finish, iron furniture. Full-length checkered European walnut stock, with raised cheek rest, simple raised carvings, carved wood pistol grip extension and sliding wood patchbox is secured by two keys and the upper sling swivel, with a horn forend tip. Lightly engraved percussion lock appears to be altered from flint, secured by two screws with lightly engraved German silver escutcheons. Adjustable double set triggers. Folding leaf rear and dovetailed blade front sights. Horn-tipped wood ramrod secured by two German silver thimbles and entry pipe. Sling swivel in forend and sling stud in toe of stock.
Good. Metal with a moderately oxidized brown patina and some surface roughness. Mechanically functional, with a deeply rifles bore that is dark and dirty. Stock very good and solid, with scattered bumps and dings and some wear to the checkering and raised carving.Condition
