A sterling silver teapot having a lobed and fluted body with engraved decoration, with wooden handle and ivory finial, date mark 1798 and obscured maker's mark, possibly for Peter & Ann Bateman, and an associated sterling engraved teapot stand, date mark 1792 and maker's mark CA, for Charles Aldridge; teapot oah. 6.25 in., stand lg. 7.75, wd. 5.25 in., approximate silver wt. 18.96ozt (589.5g) (including non-silver elements).
Provenance: Descended in the Telfair family. Property from the Collection of Dr. M. Donald Hayes and Jane Telfair. To Be Sold Without Reserve.
