George III Sterling Kettle on Stand
English, late 18th-early 19th century. A sterling tea kettle of globe form with bone handle and finial, engraved on two sides with PERSEVERE over an arm grasping a spear, pot and lid hallmarked with date mark 1798 and maker's mark RG, and a later sterling stand on three reeded legs and paw feet, hallmarks include date mark 1808 and maker's mark CC; oah. 11.5 in., approx. silver wt. 40.434ozt (1257.5g) (includes handle and finial).
Several impact marks on body of kettle, including three significant dents around monogram. Dent in stand where kettle sits.
