George III Sterling Casters and Stand
English, 1761. A sterling cruet stand by John Delmester, of cinquefoil form on four scrolling legs and shell form feet, having a central baluster stem surmounted by Rococo handle and faced by a foliate cartouche engraved with heraldic charge. Base and stand hallmarked for London, date mark 1761 and maker's mark ID. Fitted with three sterling casters, also fully hallmarked, and two cut glass bottles with silver lids, unmarked, all having flame finials; oah. 9.75 in., silver wt. 42.315ozt (1316g).
Some minor surface wear as would be expected with age and use. Two smaller casters with a few small dings to body. Large caster and one small caster each with a small dent to pierced lid. Two glass bottles with a few tiny fleabites on the body and around the mouth and base. One bottle has a slightly larger polished chip on the star design of the base.
SHIPPING. At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received. Shipment is generally made via UPS Ground service. Unless buyer gives special instructions, the shipping method shall be at the sole discretion of Cowan's Auctions, Inc..
