George III Mahogany Corner Cabinet
English, late 18th-early 19th century. A George III two-piece corner cabinet in mahogany, the upper section having a fretwork, broken-scroll pediment terminating in rosettes and centered by an urn-form finial carved with acanthus leaves, above a dentilated cornice and an astragal-glazed door before three scalloped shelves, the lower section having a blind, paneled door opening to a two-shelf interior, all rising on bracket feet; ht. 91, wd. 30.5, dp. 18.5 in.
Some veneer and molding repairs and imperfections as would be consistent with age and use. Tip of finial repaired. One glazed panel cracked. Some light scratches to blind, paneled door. Interior walls of upper section lined with painted green paper. Door hinges are replacements. Retains interior locking mechanisms.
SHIPPING. At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
