G. F. Stoermer Cape Gun
20 gauge / 11mm (probably 11x57R), 27.25" barrels, no SN. Blued finish, bright receiver, checkered pistol-gripped stock horn grip cap, raised cheek rest and checkered forend. Checkered barrel rib marked G.F. STO RMER HERZBERG A.H. in gold leaf. German proofs on water table and under barrels. Exposed hammers, double triggers, fixed, dovetail mounted rear sight and dovetailed front sight blade. Receiver, locks and triggerguard exquisitely chiseled with tight foliate scrolls and game scenes, hammers engraved with foliate necks and dragon-like noses. Gold bands at breech of barrels. Sling swivel on lug under barrels, swivel in stock toe missing.
Very good. Retains some finish with much having turned to a lightly oxidized plum patina. Markings and engraving remain crisp. Mechanically functional, fine bores. Stock with scattered bumps, dings and handling marks.Condition
