A mantel clock, the movement by Japy Frères, the unmarked face in carved wooden case being supported on a litter by two men in Chinese dress, another man sitting on top holding an umbrella, on a beaded and guilloche base with ball feet. Having an eight-day time and strike, pendulum and spring with signed movement; oah. 21.5, wd. 15.75, dp. 5.5 in.

Movement appears complete. Age of case uncertain, possibly Austrian. Dial and hands in good condition. Minor gilt and paint loss throughout, with some later paint. Old repairs to movement case. Split in base. Backplate detached.
