James, Frank (1843-1915). Western outlaw, brother to Jesse James. Wood carving presented in the form of a Smith & Wesson spur trigger break top revolver, For Buck / Frank James inked on the grip. Approx. 6.75 x 3.25 in. A penciled note tied to the carving, written by William Levi "Buck" Taylor states, "This is a gun carved by Frank James at the Samuel's Farm in Clay Co. Mo. 12-2-13 and presented to me by Frank at that time." Signed "Buck Taylor." Attractively presented in a suede-lined frame with a mounted photograph, presumably of James and three others on horseback.

Some light soiling of the image and wear to the gun. Light foxing on the envelope, but has not been observed outside its case.
