Lot Description

Lot of 3 stereoviews, each credited on mount recto and verso to John P. Soule, Boston, MA, from his series of War Views documenting Charleston, SC and Forts in Vicinity between March and April, 1865, including the following titles: No. 335, Fort Sumpter [sic] from the Bar, featuring Mathew Brady at far right looking in the direction of two men seated on photo equipment; No. 336, Palmetto fortifications on the Channel Side of Fort Sumpter [sic]; No. 353, Interior of Fort Moultrie Battery B. and group of Palmetto Trees in distance.

Condition

Nos. 335 and 336 with 3 cent internal revenue stamps on mount verso. It appears that No. 353 once had a stamp based on the uneven toning on mount verso, but it is no longer present. Light soiling on each albumen and mount, some wear along corners and edges of each mount.
