Brainerd, John. Lieutenant Colonel Commandant of the 7th Regiment, 2nd Brigade of Connecticut Militia. Partially printed DS, "John Brainerd 2nd," 12.25 x 7 in. (sight), framed, 15.5 x 10.25 in., Haddam [CT]. September 4, 1815. A warrant issued to "Charles Stephens" for the office of Corporal in the 3 Battalion Company, 7th Infantry Regiment of Militia. Reverse bears Stephen's signature.
A fine post-War of 1812 warrant illustrated with woodcuts depicting a spread winged American eagle and uniformed soldier.
