American, early 19th century. An exceptionally beautiful Federal sideboard in mahogany with satinwood inlay and mixed woods secondary including yellow pine, having a serpentine form with conforming surface, a single fitted drawer with brass pulls over two doors with floral inlay, flanked by a deep cabinet drawer to the left and swing door to the right, the case stiles with shell and fluting inlay, all rising on square tapering legs with bellflower inlay; ht. 36, wd. 72, dp. 30 in.

The top exhibits a number of linear shrinkage cracks to the veneer in several places which have been colored, and or filled, and then blocked in numerous places on the underside of the top board. Top board reset. Door fronts with veneer cracks, some filled and colored. Drawer pulls are likely replaced. Legs have possibly been shortened, and pieced-in spade feet added.
