- Lot Description
American (possibly Connecticut), ca 1780. A Chippendale mirror in mahogany with with gilt foliate side drapes and an independent carved phoenix surmounting the crest; 50 x 22.5 in.
The mirror offered here is illustrated in Sack, Fine Points of Furniture Early American, pg. 207.

Small area of impact damage to phoenix. Both applied gilt scroll pieces on the crest appear to have old repairs. Multiple age splits to front of frame. One crest scroll on back is split.
