English, late 19th-early 20th century. A fine Chinese-Chippendale-style giltwood mirror, surmounted by a pagoda with a dancing figure, flanked by fully-carved bird figures, the rectangular mirror with an elaborately carved open-work border with a shell cartouche at bottom; 60 x 42 in. (with pagoda).
The mirror has had significant restoration. Some areas with regilding. Newer vertical brace on verso. The proper left bird is a replacement. Both birds have been reattached. The glass appears to be original to the frame. Bottom bracket on verso is loose. The repairs have been professionally executed. Chips and losses to surface, consistent with age.
