Lot Description

Fitzgerald, Edward (Translator). THE RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYAM. London: Robt. Riviere & Son, Ltd., 1928. 8 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches in a full red morocco binding by Riviere with gilt ruling to covers and gilt pictorial inlay to upper cover of snake and chalice with the same theme repeated in gilt tooling to spine; with gilt printed black leather label and 5 raised bands; all edges gilt. Title page printed in blue and black and with blue initial letters throughout. Complete with 11 b/w full page plates and a color frontispiece. 75 (1) pp.

Condition

With rubbing to the joints and some uneven toning and sunning to the covers; still a sound and attractive pictorial Riviere binding. Ink gift inscription, wife to husband at Christmas, to front free endpage - otherwise internally Fine.
