Printed broadside, 18 x 12 in., with 2.75 x 3.5 in. illustration of young, female slave at top left, framed, 27.5 x 21.5 in. Boldly headed, 20 Dollars Reward!, the broadside continues...Ranaway in the month of June last, from the subscriber residing in Alexandria, Va., Negro Woman, Lucy, called Lucy Payne. With a detailed description of the runaway slave, in part: Aged about 50 years, well set and fleshy; full breast, front teeth decayed, greyish hair, the nail on one of her four-fingers injured...wears a handkerchief generally on her head. The broadside closes with a suggestion that she is likely being harbored in or near Tennelly Town or Washington City, where her husband George Payne resides. Signed in print by John Hooff.
