American, 19th century. A Federal-style upholstered sofa with veneered crest rail ending in carved flowers, over acanthus and cornucopia carved serpentine arms and skirt, resting on carved paw feet over casters; ht. 33.75, wd. 86, dp. 23.5 in.
Purchased Windsor Antiques Market, Windsor, VT, 1986.Condition
Water stains and wear to upholstery. Some scratches and loss to wood on protruding surfaces, and some thin cracks to veneer. End loss to upper outer edge of cornucopia on both sides of sofa.
