.30-30, 24" octagonal-to-round barrel, half-magazine, S/N 268470. Blued barrel, case hardened receiver, checkered pistol-gripped walnut stock with smooth walnut forend. Crescent buttplate, adjustable tang sight, dovetailed front sight with brass bead, barrel sight dovetail is filled. Top of octagonal barrel marked in two lines: MARLIN FIRE-ARMS Co. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED OCT. 11, 1887, APRIL 2, 1889, AUGUST 1, 1898. Left angled flat marked: SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL and top of barrel marked 30-30 at breech. Top of receiver is marked MARLIN SAFETY. Receiver engraved with flowing scroll boarder lines, floral sprays and with a buck on the reverse.
Good to very good overall. Barrel retains most of the blue finish. Traces of blue on magazine tube and traces of case coloring on receiver. Mechanically functional, take down catch is frozen, good bore that is dark and dirty. Stock good as refinished, with worn checkering and added varnish.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received. Shipment is generally made via UPS Ground service. Unless buyer gives special instructions, the shipping method shall be at the sole discretion of Cowan's Auctions, Inc..
