American, 1888. An exceptional salt-glazed and molded stoneware pig flask of anatomically correct form by Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna Pottery, Illinois, having a hole at the rear with incised hooves and facial details. One side incised and cobalt highlighted with St Louis The future Great / The Latest and Most Reliable / Rail Road and River Guide / By / Anna Pottery / 1888. The remainder of the pig incised and cobalt highlighted with a map of landmarks including Miss River, Chester, G Tower, C & A, M & O, Short Line, O & M, Springfield, ICRR, Bloomington, Chicago the Corn City, Pullman, Kankakee, Champaign, Odin, Salem, Vincenes [sic], Centralia, Tamaroa, Duquoin, Carbondale, Anna, Cairo, Mound City, Tunnel Hill, CV & C RR, and Cincinnati the Pork City; lg. 7.75 in.Condition
