Engraved Pair of Consecutive Numbered Second Gen Colt Single Action Army Revolvers
.45 calibers, 7.5" barrels, S/N 24682SA , 24683SA. Both revolvers were finished in the blue and case colored with black hard rubber grips. Hammers were special jeweled and polish by Joe Lamping a custom gunsmith who worked in St. Bernard, Cincinnati, Ohio. The engraving was most likely done by Ralph Alpin who left Cincinnati to go to work for Ithaca Gun Company, he did their 4E and 5E shotguns. Later who was an artist that worked for the Franklin Mint. Factory letter states these revolvers were shipped to Joseph Lamping 4923 Vine St, Cincinnati Ohio February 4, 1959, in the Green state for outside Engraving. Both revolvers are done in a Helfrict style, beautifully scrolled engraving. Cased in a leather style casing. Comes with factory letter. Postwar SA's shipped in the green state are quite rare and seldom come up for sale.
Both revolvers retain all of the blue and case colored finish. Beautifully finished in a highly polished blue and case colored. Grips are excellent to new. Revolvers are like new. The leather case is excellent.Condition
