- Lot Description
English (London), 1886-1887. A sterling silver cigarette case and match safe by George Howson with enamel decoration of Punch and Toby the Dog, each engraved on verso for Edward D. E. van Weenen, September 22, 1887. Both with full hallmarks; case ht. 3 1/4, wd. 2 1/2 in., safe ht. 2 1/8, wd. 1 1/2 in.
Edward D.E. van Weenen (1847-1925) was an Australian philatelist and member of the London Philatelic Society.
