- Lot Description
.90 caliber (about 6 bore), 44.5" octagonal-to-round barrel, with a flat top the entire length of the barrel. Browned finish, two-key walnut stock with checkered wrist and raised cheek piece. Breech, barrel and lock all marked "Mortimer." Breech with gold inlay, including the name. Gold-plated wrist escutcheon with engraved initials. Iron mountings, German silver forend cap and wedge escutcheons. Wooden ramrod secured by two iron thimbles.
Good. Barrel with an oxidized brown patina and scattered pitting. Mechanically functional, with a dark, dirty and pitted bore. Stock with numerous bumps, dings and mars and a crack through the lock and tang area and another crack forward of the lock mortise.Condition
