Edward H. Potthast, Jr., was the nephew of Edward Henry Potthast, and learned painting with him. He was born in Cincinnati, and after spending some time in Holland and New York City, he returned to Cincinnati in the 1920s to teach and continue his artistic career. He is mostly remembered for his rural landscapes, such as the ones featured in this auction, and pastoral scenes.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
