Edgar Alfred Holloway was a British children's book illustrator, but he became a war artist during the Boer War, working for the British publisher, Gale and Polden, creating military uniform pictures for their postcard series. He continued his career as an artist by contributing illustrations to the Boys' Own Paper and Young England magazine, as well as illustrating boys' adventure books. After emigrating to Australia, Holloway continued illustrating for publishers in Sydney.
