- Lot Description
.58 caliber, 4.3125" twist-off round barrel with canon muzzle and baluster turned rings at stepped transitions. Bright finish, walnut grip. Bottom of frame marked BARBAR, with London commercial proofs and */IB maker's mark. Bottom of frame also numbered "1", suggesting this was once part of a pair. Top of frame marked LONDON. Frame with light foliate engraving, silver inlay on reverse of grip, with grotesque mask on butt. Stock with raised, carved shell-motif apron around tang. Lock with bridled and fenced, round iron pan with rounded swan neck cock. Top jaw and screw are more recent replacements. A really attractive twist-off canon barrel pistol from a famous 18th century London maker.

Very good. Metal with a smooth pewter-gray patina. All markings remain crisp and sharp. Mechanically functional, very good bore, good grip with nicks and dings.Condition
