Born in Geneva, Switzerland, David Boudon is known as a miniaturist and watercolor profile portraitist working in Philadelphia at the end of the 18th century and in Ohio (Chillicothe) at the beginning of the 19th century. He likely traveled to Frankfurt from Chillicothe to execute this portrait.
