10.75" dagger blade with 6.25" false edge and an overall length of 15.625" including the button finial on the pommel cap. Blade is 1" wide at the ricasso with a .20" thick spine, that is decorated with acid etched patterns. The blade has acid etched decorations for about three-quarters of its length on both sides, including a panoply of arms on the reverse, with floral scrolls on both sides and what may be a Barbary pirate on the obverse, although this image is very weak. Brass mounted with guard measuring 2.4" in length terminating with a pair of American eagle head quillons, the upper pointing forward and the lower pointing rearward. Tapered rectangular ivory grip with brass pommel cap. Contained in original leather covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts.
