- Lot Description
.348 WCF, 24" round barrel, with half-magazine, S/N 1620 (mfg. ca 1936). Blued finish, jeweled lever and loading gate. Deluxe checkered pistol gripped walnut stock with contrasting wood in grip and John Oberlies marked metal buttplate. Forend with diamond pattern checkering and German silver raised acorn inlay on the bottom of the forend. Standard Winchester barrel and receiver markings. Adjustable peep sight mounted on bolt, with hooded, ramped front sight. Sling swivel mounts in toe of stock and on forend cap. Small German silver escutcheon plate in toe line engraved: Robert Patterson / 1936 / Dayton O. Oberlies was a top custom gunsmith located in Dayton, OH, and Patterson was president of NCR (National Cash Register) during this period.
**Requires C&R or FFLFine. Retains most of the blued finish. Mechanically functional, good bore with some frosting. Crisp stock.Condition
