- Lot Description
.375 Magnum, 24" heavy barrel, S/N 10150 (mfg. ca 1937). Blued finish, jeweled bolt and magazine follower. Deluxe checkered pistol gripped walnut stock with John Oberlies marked metal buttplate, checkered Schnabel forend, with contrasting wood in tip and pistol grip. German silver oak leaf inlays on both sides of stock with a raised acorn inlay on the bottom of the forend. Magazine floorplate marked - SUPER GRADE -, standard Winchester barrel and receiver markings. Barrel drilled and tapped for scope mounting, adjustable Lyman peep sight mounted on receiver. Sling swivel mounts in toe of stock and forend. Small German silver escutcheon plate in toe line engraved: Robert Patterson / 1937 / Dayton O. Oberlies was a top custom gunsmith located in Dayton, OH, and Patterson was president of NCR (National Cash Register) during this period.
Fine. Retains most of the blued finish. Mechanically functional, good bore with some frosting. Crisp stock.Condition
