.69 caliber, 42" barrel secured by three barrel bands, bright finish, walnut stock. Original flint Harpers Ferry lock dated 1836. Re-convereted contract musket barrel dated 1835 with contract sub-inspection marks. Stock from a Springfield produced US M-1816 with weak Springfield inspection cartouche on counterpane as well as a percussion conversion rating cartouche. A clear Springfield master armorer's acceptance cartouche is present behind the triggerguard. The alphanumeric mating mark from percussion alteration is present between the stock flat and barrel tang. Retains both sling swivels and an original ramrod. An original US M-1816 socket bayonet is included as well.
