** Colt Woodsman Sport with Factory Letter
.22LR caliber, 4.5" barrel, S/N 143034 (mfg. ca 1940). Blued finish, checkered wood grips. Left side of frame marked THE WOODSMAN , left side of slide marked COLT , followed by AUTOMATIC / CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE , followed by the Rampant Colt Logo. Left side of barrel marked in two lines: COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / PAT'D DEC. 22, 1903. AUG. 27, 1918. SEPT. 3, 1918 . Grooved trigger, adjustable rear sight, fixed front sight blade. Includes a single blued magazine marked COLT WOODSMAN / CAL. 22 LR on the base plate. Pistol is accompanied by a Colt Factory Letter confirming the configuration of the pistol and noting that it was part of a shipment of three guns sent to Shapleigh Hardware Co. in St. Louis on October 21, 1940.
Fine. Retains nearly all of the blued finish with only the most minor thinning, some minor light handling marks and some loss on the trigger and front strap. All markings clear and crisp, mechanically functional, fine bore and grips.Condition
