**Colt U.S. Model 1911A1 Pistol with Bone Grips
.45 ACP caliber, 5" barrel, S/N 1126277 (mfg. ca 1943). Parkerized finish, carved bone grips. Matching serial number on slide, under firing pin plate. Right side of slide unmarked. Right side of frame marked with a weak Ordnance Wheel cartouche behind the grip and UNITED STATES PROPERTY forward of the grip, over the serial number and M1911A1 U.S. ARMY further forward. Left side of slide marked: PAT'D APR. 20, 1897, SPET. 9, 1902 / DEC. 19, 1905, FEB. 14, 1911 AUG. 19, 1913 with the Rampant Colt logo and then COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. Block GHD inspection below slide lock, " P " inspection below magazine release and a " P " inspectoin on top of the slide, forward of the rear sight. Short checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, wide hammer spur. Blued barrel marked COLT 45 AUTO above lug on left and with " P " inspection on lug. " F " inspection forward of swivel lug, interior of slide with "U" inspections, interior of frame marked with " G " inspections on top. Includes a single blued magazine that is marked " L " on the upper lip of the floor plate.
Good. Retains most of the greenish Parkerizing typical of Colt 1911s of this period, with the finish on the front quarter of the slide slightly darker from the hardening process as it should be. Slide and front of frame with scattered surface rust and oxidation from poor storage, resulting in finish loss, some etching of the metal and light pitting. All markings remain clear with the exception of the Ordnance Wheel which may have been lightly struck. Mechanically functional, fine bore. Replacement grips fine as well.Condition
