- Lot Description
** Colt Single Action Army Tom Mix Engraved by C. Bleile
.45 caliber, 7.5" barrel length, S/N 352813 . Fully custom engraved in a design by Rudolf Kornbrath for Tom Mix, engraving executed by Master Engraver Carl Bliele. Beautifully engraved in intertwining scrolls, with silver line inlays. Cowboy on horse in gold inlay on the left recoil shield. TM initials on the left side of the frame. A gold inlaid horse on the top of the backstrap; a diamond-shaped gold inlay in the middle of the backstrap. Gold inlaid buffalo head below the hammer screw on the right side of the frame. Gold bands along the back edge of cylinder. Gold inlaid cowboy roping a steer on the left side of the barrel, cowboy on the top of the barrel in the middle between the frame and front sight. On the right side of the barrel is a man following his mule-pulled Conestoga wagon. The following parts are finished in gold: ejector, ejector housing screw, front sight, hammer, cylinder pin and cylinder pin retaining screws and trigger. The rest of the revolver is finished in blue. Pearl grips and housed in a custom-made walnut case lined in red satin with a gold embossed ribbon Tom Mix. This entire revolver is beautifully done and cost to duplicate it today would run $10,000-15,000 or more.
