.45 ACP caliber, 5" barrel, S/N 1691307 (mfg. ca 1944). Parkerized finish, blued barrel, fully checkered walnut grips. Left side of slide marked: COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. and left side marked NM7791435 . Right side of frame marked UNITED STATES PROPERTY over the frame's serial number and M1911A1 US ARMY forward of the slide stop hole, over RIA . Front web of trigger guard is marked NM / 93 . Left side of frame with GHD inspection behind trigger and P inspection below the magazine release. Barrel hood is marked 45 AUTO / NM7791414 and with M and P inspections on the left side of the lug and MA on the right side. Barrel bushing is also National Match numbered NM7267718 . Rear of slide numbered 1655 under firing pin stop, not matching the that last four digits of the frame number. Adjustable TRIANGLE marked rear sight, ramped Patridge front sight. Adjustable long, grooved aluminum trigger, polished slide rails and hammer sides. An apparent Rock Island produced National Match pistol with appropriately marked frame with a mismatched National Match top end that seems all correct except for the lack of " U.S ." mark on the left side of the Triangle rear sight. The National Match database suggests that that Triangle sights were only used ca 1963-1965, but that Rock Island only produced the guns ca1968, with all other years (1955-1967) being assembled at Springfield. As some of the National Match guns were sold via the DCM and the Rock Island produced guns appear to have been the end of the program, it is possible that some leftover parts were utilized during production, explaining the Triangle rear sight. A very nice example of a RIA National Match frame with a real National Match top end that simply do not match. Includes a single magazine marked COLT / .45 AUTO on the base plate.
