- Lot Description
357 magnum caliber, 8" vented barrel length, S/N VA2097. Blue finish, checkered rubber grips with Colt medallions, Colt Leupold scope. This revolver is pictured in Sports Illustrated Magazine August 7, 1989 on pages 56 & 57 with article on" Joe: Top Gun." There is a letter dated 10 Sept 96:
Dear Jim,
My Colt Python S.NO VA2097 is in great shape. I just never had the time to go on the hunting trip. I had dreamed of. As I mentioned it has rarely been fired. I wish you the best with it. MY best Wishes Joe Foss.
Joe Foss was a highly decorated World War II Veteran. He was a Metal of Honor Winner, President of the NRA, Commissioner of the American Football, Television Broadcaster and Spokesperson, but more importantly he was a great American.
