- Lot Description
Lot of 15 beautifully composed, sepia-toned photographs, each 8.5 x 11.75 in., on 14 x 18 in. mount. Photographer and location unknown, although it appears that the images may have been taken in the northern United States or Canada. Ca late 19th-early 20th century. Featuring 7 photographs of Inuit or other northern indigenous people. Scenes include families at camp and men and boys near the water, some in boats, possibly preparing to go fishing. Accompanied by 8 views capturing a group of white men on a canoe excursion, likely in the northern US or Canada based on the landscape.
Overall very fine condition. Prints attractive, beautifully composed. Some corner and edge wear to mounts, with few that have small chips along corners and edges. Few light smudges/fingerprints on images.Condition
