Lot of 23 CDVs of Union generals, mostly "from life" photographs, many credited to Boston, MA photographers, as well as some commercially printed cartes. The collection features the following subjects (photographer noted for CDVs including studio imprint): U.S. Grant; George McClellan (2), one by Black, the other by Black & Case, Boston; W.T. Sherman by Mora, New York; Philip Sheridan by Brady, Washington; William Farrar Smith by Joseph Ward, Boston; Francis P. Blair, Jr.; William B. Franklin by Anthony/Brady, New York; Nathaniel Banks (2), one by Charles D. Fredricks & Co., New York; John W. Geary; Erasmus D. Keyes; Gordon Granger by Case & Getchell, Boston; George Stoneman (2) one by Anthony/Brady, the other, a commercially produced view by Elias Dexter; unidentified brigadier general by Hoelke & Benecke, St. Louis, MO; and an unidentified officer with penciled note on verso identifying him to the 7th New Hampshire Infantry, with credit to D.O. Furnald, Manchester, NH.
