- Lot Description
German, ca 1885-1910. A custom matching set including a cigarette holder, cigarette case and match safe in .800 gilt silver by Lutz & Weiss, made for the Sultan of Turkey, each piece engraved with the monogram of the Ottoman sultan, the cigarette case engraved with the entire crest. Match safe marked on interior rim, cigarette holder marked on exterior, cigarette case marked on clasp; case ht. 3 3/4, wd. 3 1/4 in., safe ht. 2, wd. 1 3/4 in., holder lg. 3 7/8 in.
These items are a unique set that were created exclusively for the Sultan, but were never used. The cigarette case still retains the original tissue liners on the interior.
