A sampler decorated with trees and animals, with text reading On Christmas - Day / What words, what Voices can we bring, / Which way our Accents raise, / To welcome the mysterious King, / And sing a Saviour's Praise? / O' tis too little all we can, / For his unbounded Love, / All that was ever wrote by Man, / Or sung in Hymns above. / Modesty has more charms than Beauty. / Martha Northover / Aged 5 Years / 1808. Housed in a leaf and twig carved frame; 16.5 x 13 in. (frame).
