- Lot Description
Chinese. A group of two lacquer lidded boxes, including:
one round in black with landscape scene with figures on lid, sides decorated with reserves of bamboo, chrysanthemums, and blossoming prunus, marked on bottom PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA, ht. 5.5, dia. 11 in.;
and one with shaped form in red lacquer, the lid decorated with scene of crane in flight carrying bundle between branches laden with peaches, sides decorated with butterflies and bats carrying peaches; ht. 4, lg. 18.25, wd. 13.5 in.
