- Lot Description
Carpantier, Pape. LES ANIMAUX SAUVAGES. Paris: Hachette et Cie., 1869. Oblong 12 1/2 by 10 inches in an elaborate gilt printed and pictorial green cloth binding with beveled edges -- apparently a custom publisher's "prize binding" done for the Charlier Institute in New York City near Central Park; with an award bookplate for the Charlier Institute affixed to the front pastedown. All edges gilt. Includes 12 full page chromolithograph illustrations of wild animals by Kronheim.
With modest handling wear to the binding but Very Good condition; internally clean and bright.Condition
