- Lot Description
Blonder, Leo. HIMMLISCHE MAR. Vienna: Christoph Reisser, 1914. 13 3/4 by 10 1/4 inches in silver stamped cloth with a new buckram spine. Colored lithographed title, 7 very fine color lithographed plates by Wenzel Oswald alternating with seven large black-and-white vignettes by Oswald - all printed on a heavy paper stock. Rare children's book which came from the Wiener Werkestatte - not the ultra-rare deluxe edition of 25 in vellum, but nonetheless quite uncommon in the trade.
The rebacking work caused some wrinkling to the pastedowns, front and rear; and there is slight exposure at the inner hinges; but the binding is solid and sound. The illustrations have modest toning at the page edges but are otherwise fresh and with strong color. A nice example of a rare Children's book.Condition
