Charles Meurer is widely recognized for his trompe-l'oeil still lifes, such as this work offered here. According to the artist himself, Michael Harnett's still-lifes inspired him to produce similar works. Among his other favored subject matters are pastoral and rural scenes, with depictions of sheep, and floral still lifes.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
