.56-46 caliber, 25.75" round barrel, S/N 1235, rear tang sight, rear barrel sight, hooded front sight. Extra fancy walnut stock and forearm with Silver plated brass tip, finished in a high gloss varnished finish. Sling swivels with case colored bases and the slings with silver plated finish, with high blued screws. Finished with a blue barrel and sights, case colored frame, lock, and hammer, lever. Cased in a Rosewood case form fitted to the rifle, lined in a green wool cloth. Extra screws if you don't want the sling swivels in. Original combination tool and Pull throng. Wood cleaning rod. Extra compartments for packets of cartridges. Top of the case has a brass plaque inlay with his name Col J.C. Audenried USA.
History:
This is an outstanding cased Spencer Rifle of which there are only three known sets. This rifle retains all of the original blue finish on the barrel. Bright fiery blue on the hood sight, rear barrel sight and tang sight. The case colored parts retain all of the vivid fiery case colors. Stock and forearm are mint. Silver plated tip retains all of the silver finish. The stock has areas of lightness, cause by being displayed close to sunlight. Entire rifle is about in new condition. Case is in outstanding condition. The lining is excellent. It is The best cased ID'd Spencer sporting rifle known for sale.
SHIPPING. At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received. Shipment is generally made via UPS Ground service. Unless buyer gives special instructions, the shipping method shall be at the sole discretion of Cowan's Auctions, Inc.. If you are purchasing a firearm that requires an FFL or C&R and you do not have one, we can transfer the gun to a firearms dealer of your choice. We will transfer and ship the firearm to them, and they will then transfer it to you. Any charges for this service (which may include a background check) are between you and the dealer. If you come to Cowan’s in person to pick up your purchase(s), we can transfer a long gun to you directly. Handguns can only be transferred to Ohio residents.
