- Lot Description
.28 caliber, 6-shot, 3" barrel cluster, blued finish, varnished walnut grips. Frame engraved with tight foliate scrolls and with decorative feathery boarders. Top of frame marked in two lines with the top line arced: BLUNT & SYMS / NEW YORK. Ring trigger, "concealed" hammer action. The pistol is contained in a partitioned period case with a multi-colored speckled felt lining and pillow in the lid. The casing includes a number of accessories that include: an unmarked, dual cavity iron bullet mold, an appropriately sized combination cone wrench and screwdriver, a combination loading and cleaning rod with a bulbous rosewood tip, a copper eagle motif flask with an angled spout, a tin of Hicks brand percussion caps and a small key for the lock of the case. Overall a really lovely cased pepperbox set.
Fine overall. Pistol retains the majority of the blue finish, with most of the loss on the frame. Mechanically functional, good bores. Varnished grips with most of their finish, showing bumps and dings. Case and accessories all very good to fine.Condition
