British 12th Lancers Officer's M1856 Helmet
Black patent leather body trimmed with gold braid and bullion embroidery. Crown has ribbed red wool mortarboard trimmed in bullion cord. Silvered on copper front plate Queen's crown and Prince of Wales feathers with battle honors applied on a gilt triangular sunburst plate. Has a gold bullion rosette with "VR" cipher on dark blue velvet, which serves as a plume socket holding the red feather plume. Gilded lion head bosses support the black velvet backed brass chin chain. Interior lined in crimson silk and leather sweatband.Condition
